Shameless: What's the point?

So, this Walid Saadaoui guy... he's on trial for allegedly plotting some terror attack in Manchester. Targeting Jews, no less. Real classy. But the real question is: Is he actually a terrorist, or just another attention-starved loser playing the victim card?

The "I Was Just Joking!" Defense

The dude claims he was just "playing along" with some undercover operative, pretending to be an ISIS supporter to... what, exactly? Sabotage the plot later? Give me a break. That's like saying you robbed a bank to "test" their security. Yeah, okay.

He even drags in some Syrian guy, "Person A," who supposedly threatened him back in 2017. Claims this guy set up the whole thing as a "test." But here's the kicker: the prosecution whips out a death certificate proving "Person A" died in 2021. Natural causes, even. Saadaoui's response? "Nah, he's alive. It's an Isis classic to fake your own death."

Right. Because everyone who dies of old age in a hospital is secretly a master of disguise working for ISIS. Is this guy for real?

And offcourse, the only evidence he has of these "seven-year ordeal" of threats is his own word. No messages, no voice notes, nothing. Just "trust me, bro."

You know what this sounds like? It sounds like every internet troll who gets called out for saying something vile and then cries, "It was just a prank!"

Shameless: What's the point?

The Grift is Real

See, there's this whole cottage industry of professional victims these days. Guys who build their entire brand on being "canceled" or "oppressed" or whatever. They feed off the outrage, turn it into clicks, and cash in. Think Kyle Rittenhouse doing a speaking tour after getting away with murder. It's disgusting, but it works.

This whole thing stinks of that same playbook. Saadaoui gets caught red-handed with assault rifles and a semi-automatic pistol, and suddenly he's the victim of a shadowy Syrian mastermind who faked his own death? Please. According to Manchester Terror plot accused denies being 'shameless liar', Saadaoui denies these accusations.

But wait, am I being too cynical? I mean, maybe he really is being framed. Maybe there's some elaborate conspiracy going on that we don't know about. Then again, Occam's razor and all that... the simplest explanation is usually the right one. And the simplest explanation here is that Saadaoui is a liar trying to weasel his way out of a terrorism charge.

I'm just saying, the timing is suspect. He conveniently moves from Great Yarmouth to Wigan to "escape" this Syrian dude, and suddenly he's knee-deep in a terror plot? Seems like he was looking for something more than just a quiet life with his wife and kids.

And then his brother and some other dude are involved too? Nah, this ain't adding up.

So, What's the Angle Here?

Is Saadaoui a genuine threat, a dangerous terrorist who needs to be locked away for life? Or is he just a pathetic loser trying to get famous by playing the victim? Maybe it's both. Maybe he's a dangerous terrorist and a pathetic loser. Either way, I ain't losing any sleep over this guy.
